CTET Preparation — Approach & Study Plan
We provide you with a a practical approach to CTET preparation along with multiple study-plan tracks, daily timetables, and reusable templates to convert study time into consistent score gains. It is designed to fit both Paper I (Classes I–V) and Paper II (Classes VI–VIII).
Preparation approach
Syllabus-first mapping: Convert the syllabus into a checklist and tag topics as Core, Support, or Enrichment to direct effort where marks accumulate fastest.
Concepts → Practice → Review: Learn with short concept notes, drill with targeted problems, and close the loop with an error log that captures the cause and the fix.
Time-boxed sessions: Study in focused blocks (e.g., 25–50 minutes) with measurable outputs (e.g., “200 problems,” “2 summaries,” “1 mini-mock”).
Spiral revision: Schedule revisits at 1–3–7–14–30 day intervals for durable memory; use active recall over rereading.
Performance feedback: Track attempt rate, accuracy, and time per correct/incorrect item to guide weekly adjustments.
Study plans (choose one)
8-week standard track
Week 1: CDP foundations; Language I reading strategies; Math number sense or Subject basics. Outputs: CDP notes, 5 RC sets, 150 basic problems.
Week 2: Language II pedagogy; EVS/SS concepts; Math arithmetic or Science concept maps. Outputs: pedagogy flashcards, 2 concept maps, 200 problems.
Week 3: Math (fractions/ratios/operations); Language I grammar in context. Outputs: topic snapshots, 250 problems, 2 mini-mocks.
Week 4: EVS/Science inquiry methods; CDP advanced (assessment, inclusion). Outputs: inquiry lesson plan, 2 revision cycles.
Week 5: Math (geometry/measurement/data); Language II practice sets. Outputs: 200 problems, 2 mini-mocks, error log v2.
Week 6: Social Studies or Science pedagogy; CDP case applications. Outputs: 2 teaching designs, 3 case write-ups.
Week 7: Full-length mocks ×2; weak-topic remediation. Outputs: analytics and targeted drills.
Week 8: Full-length mocks ×2–3; spiral revision; exam-day dry run. Outputs: final notes pack.
4-week crash track
Weeks 1–2: Daily CDP; compress Language I/II strategies; intensive Math/Subject drills.
Week 3: Two full mocks; fix top 5 weak areas; rebuild formula/grammar sheets.
Week 4: Three full mocks; spiral revision; exam-day rehearsals.
12-week deep-dive track
Weeks 1–6: Concept mastery + light drills; compile complete Topic Snapshots.
Weeks 7–9: Practice-heavy phase; section mini-mocks; pedagogy applications.
Weeks 10–12: Full mocks; analytics-led targeting; retention-focused revision.
Daily timetables
Working schedule
Morning (45–60 min): CDP or Language reading with brief notes.
Evening (60–90 min): Timed Math/Subject drills.
Night (30 min): Error log updates + spaced revision.
Weekend: One mini-mock + 2 hours remediation.
Full-time schedule
Block A (90 min): Concepts + active recall.
Block B (90 min): Timed practice sets.
Block C (60 min): Language comprehension and pedagogy.
Block D (45 min): Error log + spiral revision.
Section-wise priorities
CDP: Theories → classroom vignettes → “best decision” practice; inclusion and assessment principles.
Language I & II: Daily RC; grammar-in-context; pedagogy for multilingual classrooms and task design.
Mathematics: Number sense → arithmetic → geometry/measurement → data; method sheet with “when to use” cues and common traps.
EVS/Science: Concept maps (cycles, systems, processes); inquiry routine (question → predict → test/argue → explain); integrate safety and environment.
Social Studies (Paper II): Timelines and cause–effect chains (History), maps (Geography), evidence-based answers from primary sources/data.

Execution reminders
Study outputs over study hours; protect deep work blocks.
Build “anti-trap” checklists from recurring mistakes.
Balance heavy drill days with light consolidation to prevent fatigue.
