provide professional counselling services to help students overcome challenges and achieve
their personal and academic goals.
Job Overview
We are hiring a residential Student Counselor to join our team at VCHANCE. This position is
open to both freshers and experienced candidates with a background in psychology. The role is
based at VIT-AP University, where you’ll work closely with students to provide guidance,
emotional support, and intervention strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
● BSc and Master’s in Psychology
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Empathy and the ability to build rapport with students
● Problem-solving abilities and a solution-focused mindset
● Strong ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Roles and Responsibilities
● Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students facing academic, emotional, or
personal challenges
● Conduct workshops and seminars on mental health awareness and personal
development
● Assist students in developing coping mechanisms for stress, anxiety, and other mental
health concerns
● Collaborate with faculty and other departments to identify students in need of support
● Maintain accurate documentation and case records
● Participate in developing intervention strategies for students struggling with academic or
personal issues
● Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe and supportive campus
environment.
